Counselling Face To Face And Online Via Skype
Jean Watson – Helping You to Help Yourself
Are you looking for Counselling in Sussex?
Are you looking for an English Online Counsellor?
My name is Jean Watson and I work with individuals and couples and if you have found this website you will be aware that “something isn’t right” and are looking for some kind of way forward but may still be unsure about engaging in counselling.
This might be because of how you, or others, might perceive counselling or because you keep assuring yourself that you just have to “pull yourself together” “you can handle it” “things can’t change”. However sometimes we just can’t seem to get past things and we can get more and more emotionally weakened by them. If it was a physical issue that was troubling you, you probably would get it checked out at your Doctors. So why hesitate when it comes to your peace of mind?
There are many different types of counsellors. I use an integrative approach which includes CBT, REBT and means that I use an approach suited to you rather than “one size fits all” counselling. My role is to help you find out what is at the root of how you are feeling and to empower you to find the insight into yourself that you need to ensure that you are equipped to lead a happy and balanced life. Change can only come from within – change is not something you do, it’s something you allow. I will help you, help yourself, to make those changes.
Counselling does not have to be long, awkward or public. I like to think of it as just having a conversation. It may be very painful at times but in the same way that if you lanced a boil it would only be extra painful for a short time and then you will begin to heal.
I provide Counselling and Coaching services in person or online through either Skype Therapy and Email Therapy. The video below will give you a better understanding of the ‘who, what, where and how’ of the services I offer.
Whether its stress, depression, anxiety, grief, relationships or excesses, if you feel I can help you help yourself, then please leave your details in the form above or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org or just telephone me on 07563 210718
And……I cannot take credit for the following account of what makes up a good counselling relationship – all I know is that this adaption of an anonymous poem sums up my view of it and embodies the relationship I have with my clients:
Why am I here?
I am here to listen…..not to work miracles.
I am here to help you discover what you are feeling…..not to make things go away.
I am here to help you identify your options….Not to decide for you what you should do.
I am here to discuss steps with you….Not to take the steps for you.
I am here to help you discover your own strength….Not to rescue you and leave you still vulnerable
I am here to help you discover that you can help yourself….Not to take responsibility for you.
I am here to help you to choose…..Not to make it unnecessary for you to make difficult choices.
I am here to provide support for your change!
